See this measure is not bad in the sense it is highlighting that the potential is there but you are far from it - meaning you can then ask:
how often am I showing interstitial ? (maybe aim for an interstitial every 3 minutes with the first one being shown a bit earlier than that maybe within the first minute). If the app does not lend itself to this time-based - then roughly see where you should put interstitials to get this sort of presentation rate of the ad.
Would you say you were showing the interstitial very rarely (i.e. less often than suggested above) ?
Your revenue is good (compared to my apps) - for the DAU you are getting good money - however your session length (average may not truly do justice to the weighted impact of the session length distribution - but here we are going for rule-of-thumb type calculations so just taking “average” as a measure) - your session length suggests you should be able to make more.
I would suggest showing interstitial at start (as some have suggested) - however can also show it “early” if not at immediate beginning. Then next one after that can show after 3 minutes or so.
Some folks on this forum have suggested that ad at beginning will have better “engagement” than one at the end - though others may disagree etc.
@idleboy You have pretty nice income with 50-60k impressions. I am currently pulling 45k impressions per day and that earns me around 7-8 dollars per day. Of course my ecpm is very very low and i have no idea how to raise it. Do you have any tips, tricks, suggestions what should i do to up my daily revenue.
Maybe its low because its a new app. For two weeks it struggled 200-300 downloads a day but by adding google translation it exploded a little bit. Been getting 4k-5k downloads per day for a few days now.

How did you add them, as far as i know automatic translation isn’t available anymore in new market console?!?
Currently its 45k impressions daily. Thats the funny thing with appannie. It shows the old stats and does not seem to update it. My current download count is 17k.
I was looking at the refresh rate you mentioned. Its currently set on 45seconds. Is that bad? Should i change it?
@nr1 Yeah its the standard google translation. Since its not available in console anymore i just copy pasted my text to google tranlate one by one. It was tedious work but seems that it paid off. Not really sure if that was the reason of explosion but i cant think of another explanation. I think when i translated the app it got a little bit more exposure to get the snowball going.

I use 45-50 second refreshes in all my apps that use banners. There’s nothing wrong with that setting. If your users are spending a significant amount of time in the app then you might want to up the timer to 60 seconds or more, but some people have it very low. Its good to experiment as your users may respond better to different refresh rates.
well then that remains mystery. Looks that today i am nearing 60k impressions and that gets me around 7 dollars. I am going to set it to 120 seconds when new day starts because that is the average time it takes to finish harders levels in my game. I am gonna report back if it helped or hurt. @nr1 I basically translated to almost every language possible. I guess these descriptions are now pretty horrific because it they are coming straight out of google-s mouth
Nearly all my banners are in apps, so yeah, your impressions generally count for less in games (but obviously you generate more of them).
Oh and don’t worry about bad translations, it makes a massive difference since most people will be able to make sense of it and that’s what mainly counts.
Yes it is important to translate the text within app too. And better go for professional manual translation than automated one for long term.
You can go to Site geo reports in admob and see the region wise breakup of traffic and cpm. I think most of your requests are coming from country having few advertisers.
I would never go for all 30 supported languages in one go. First get the app translated in top performing countries and then move to other ones. For a single app, you can hire a translator on freelancer for around $15-20. The best revenue comes for US and UK
Quick question: Did the genius Google change terminology? Are the eCPM and Request RPM one and the same thing? I am trying to read info from all kinds of blogs and kinda confusing.
Also i raised my refresh rate from 45 to 90 and while the impressions have slowed down the eCPM/RPM (or whatever the hell this is) has become 3 times bigger only in 2 hours. Still early to give any definite results but looks like longer refresh rate is more useful in my case.
