Anybody make a living from personal Android projects?

Probably I should not talk about tax, as far as I know, Germany is worst regarding the amount of tax and anything related to tax  It can go up to 45% if you earn too much )

**** socialism:)

But Germany has very high amount of money tax free. In Poland you can earn up to 1k$ without any taxes… In germany it is a lot more

it is ~8.4k euros per year, which makes 700 euros per month. I would not say that it is too much

It can go up to 45% in the U.K too.

This year it is
£10,000-£41,865=20% Tax
£41,866-£150,000=40% Tax
£150,001+ = 45% Tax

It sucks.

Yes, but it is always something:) In Poland 1k$ per year = less than 100$/month free tax… And in Germany you pay only 14% tax for income in most cases. Higher taxes are for very, very high incomes.

Who needs tax free limit, if he has to pay 19%, even when 10 million bucks is earned.

If you afraid of high tax, you can register limited company or sole trade. Then the tax only count for final interest Earnings before interest and taxes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

You must pay for coder, artist, royal graphic, software license, hardware for development…(Operating expenses) and then it can reduce much for income tax

Tax differs country by country, you can register an offshore over the web easy these days.

Tax goes up to 56% for 300K euros in some places of Spain (including absolutely crap social services as a bonus) for regular work income.

I’m too making a (modest) living, but with Windows Phone. Just moving to android to have different baskets and eggs

In austria you can earn 10k per year - in spain it’s as low as 5k (I think …) → taxfree

Europe (most countries): You also have to pay business tax (per year), you also have to pay social insurance (depening on country, in Austria it is 13% or something like that). When making EVERYTHING correct you also should care about VAT … and all that nasty stuff. The more you earn the more you pay. Worst case you give 75% away (if you earn a lot) … but actually if you earn a lot you have a lot of room to minimize or avoid taxing ^^ ).

Haha I love this thread. I just started reading it and it is amazing how it went from who is making living income from Apps to the number of apps people have then to standard of living in different countries then tax system. We should one day meet up in one country and see each other face to face. I invite you guys to bbq over here at my place in Canada

Now back to apps, I waiting for the day I make more than 100 a a day. I focus on quality apps so I have 10 apps in which 4 are successfull.

Everyone is making wallpapers. Isn’t the market saturated yet for these? How is ur wallpaper being found among thousands of apps

Yes, I am dependent on the Android apps for my living, we develop mobile application for others.

I do develop games mainly as a hobby  I am still happy to receive some extra money with it, but mainly I work on different software projects

Personally I think it’s a myth - don’t get deluded - developing app in Adroid is a tough industry right now, there’s massive competition and sometimes you strike oil, cool, but how frequent is that? And is it closer to an actual work or a lottery?
Companies of web app developers provide complex, holistic services in this respect. It’s simply hard to compete with them since they organize their process well and hire great people and generally do awesome work.

It’s tough at this day and age, but it is feasible. If you are going to start out now with a low budget, it is going to be a challenge; and the type of product you are building play a big factor as well. Saying all that to say this; there are regular guys here on this very forum making 200.00-2k + per day… In my humble opinion, I think that’s enough to live comfortable with. They keyword is “saving” - save + invest as much as you can while you can

Do you generally concentrate on maybe a couple applications and simply deal with improving them, or have a few applications out? Additionally, are these exclusive amusements?

Do you generally concentrate on maybe a couple applications and simply chip away at improving them, or have a few applications out? Additionally, are these lone diversions?

I am a one-man group and I live from doing Android recreations. So I assume I am one of such individuals. I was a consultant and began doing Android diversions just to be state-of-the-art on most up to date innovation.

Following a year or two I began procuring enough that I chose to quit outsourcing and simply make amusements. It’s an uneven street, yet I am here.

Hello there,

I’m creating Android applications and portable applications over two years as a diversion. A year prior, I incorporated a few promotions to my applications. At that point, began to win some cash. After that, my profit from applications turned out to be more than my every day work, so I quit two months back and now bring home the bacon just from android applications. Furthermore, I began to deal with iOS extends as well.
