Hello all
I have Airpush integrated in some of my apps (push ads, icons) and as many of you complained, the app gets reported as having a virus.
Now with this Google changes I expect not to have this virus issues anymore as there will be no more push/icon ads.
The ultimate question is, what are you guys doing with the apps? Are you waiting for the new sdk that is compliant with Google (and virus free I hope) to integrate it with your apps. Or are you updating your app before Sept 23 by removing the push/icon calls and then update it again when the new sdk comes out? I am not sure what to do and I wanted to see your opinion. I might just leave Airpush all together if a new sdk is not released soon
Hi Hanfoosh,
Yes we will be coming out with a new SDK which is fully compliant. We will also be releasing a brand new ad unit that will be a game changer. More info to come… Feel free to sign up here to beta test.

Please also note our in app SDK (Smartwall and in app banners) is 100% compliant with Google’s policy and developers are seeing steady CPM ranging from $2-4.
'And will you change the company name too. Air+Push doesn’t seem logical with push notifications almost gone. My suggestion “AirApp”
Thanks for the suggestion but I don’t believe any name change will be happening ![]()
Can you share with us the nature of that new unit? Just nature, in-app or out-of-app?
I don’t think that it can be out-of-app because of the new Google policy, so it’s should be in-app of course.
I’m wondering if we really need to update the apps we already have on the play store, or maybe just using the Pause button from Airpush dashboard for push and icon ads can be enough.
And Airpush should really speed the things up with the new SDK, most of the networks already have released the new sdk, so now we’re just loosing time and money by waiting. And we also don’t want to update our apps with the current sdk so that in 1-2 weeks you will release a new sdk and we will need to update it agan.
Please do your best to release it asap in order to not lose most of your developers.
Maybe it will be ad unit like Startapp is preparing for a long time - after call screen? It will not be an ad out of app - it will be a functionality of your app (with banner or sth like this).
It actually could well be out of app. PingJam have a caller ID solution which is out-of-app and compliant, Mobario have a lock screen which is out-of-app and compliant and AppWiz just released their new SDK which changes the Browser home page and is still compliant. There has always been innovation from mobile ad networks and I am eagerly awaiting the new ideas from the likes of AirPush and others like StartApp and SendDroid. I hope we won’t be disappointed!
I want to use this weekend to start to update my apps… but I’m not confident about the SmartWall, it’s fully compliant? what you think guys?
hei Airpush
i have a suggestion, please keep Push Notification and Icon Ads AVAILABLE (but in different SDK of course) ![]()
you know, app store is not only Google Play. yeah maybe it’s the biggest, but OTHER APPSTORE not banned that Ads Type.
so after 23 september i still have my Push + Icon Income via other Store, and Intersestial+New Ads in Google Play ![]()

As long as you’re calling the the smartwall within the context of your app’s actitivies, it’s compliant.
Airpush better release the new SDK soon. Have a to update a lot of apps and we dont have a lot of time.
Thanks for the reply. Exactly my question was about the timing of the release as i dont want to update twice in 3 weeks period
At least give us a date of a release
Is their current in-app SDK not Google compliant?
Yeah, Google Play is not the only android app store, Airpush shouldn’t cut off Push and Icon Ads.
Mostly flagged as notification ads even without the icon and notifications. Its better to have a totally new SDK with no reference to notifications and icon ads.
for those of us who did register for the new ad-type, when can we expect access to sdk for that?
For me the in-app sdk is not flagged as virus by AVG. SDK size: 165KB . Jar file name: com-mupwcgz-xxxxxxxxxxx
Seems that the in-app sdk, has nothing to push / icon, in fact, even change the type of call to SmartWall, etc. …
The bulk of my earnings is from banners and smartwall, so am not too worried about push ads. But Startapp is a nice contributor too. Wonder what they have to offer post this update.
