Native ads??? Compliant???

Native ads are the rave right now but im not so sure if they are even compliant.

Google Play ad policy states that ads must not mimic an apps GUI or user interface.

Isn’t this the purpose of native ads so they blend in and make it look like it is part of the app?

That’s a good point you’re making.
However, I think Google Policy was meant to prevent misleading of the user. Using the app’s look & feel to show ads is fine as long as the users know what’s offered to them.

Example from appnext: ClickTag, which sends the user to Google Play to install a different app each time the user clicks on it. ClickTag is actually a very narrow example of native ads, if used correctly.

Right way to use ClickTag - put it in an image of a present, ‘more apps’ or ‘free app of the day’ button.
Wrong way to use ClickTag- opening it without warning or clicking. You’ll can get banned for it.

You may have heard this before, but I’ll say it again - native ads work better, usually, than standard ads. And they keep your users much happier.

My 10 cents…
