Good day!
Long time reader, joined today for some chatting and advice. I’ve made a couple of crappy apps, but now leaning more to the game development, which looks pretty fun. Oh, I made one game already (it took me a couple of years, heh) and, if you’re interested, I posted about it in “App promoting” board. Due to the fact that I published it long time ago I have a very hard time promoting it even after a HUGE update. Mistake. So, hopefully, these forums will help me a little bit to not make such mistakes in the future.
I’m currently working on Crisp Bacon content updates and also making my first live wallpaper - a funny and interactive wallpaper pet. I hope to use it as a promotion for my game, not sure if that makes any sense.
Good luck and may your RPM be always high!
Hey guys,
I have been a long time reader and was very successful with my apps between 2011-2013. After having some difficulties with GP, I’m now back to give it a shot again. Beginning 2013, I was making about $250 a day. This time I’m aiming for $1000 a day.
wow, that’s pretty impresive. Are you kind enough to share the apps name?
Once u reach 1k per day, u will want more. At least that us what is happening with me so right now its all open for me. I split my earnings this way:
30% taxes
10% donation
20% back investment in installs and new apps
30% for paying debts
10% savings
One question from you?
Can you please ask Chinese Government that why my apps are not downloaded in China via Google Play?
Looks like local App stores are more popular there and one need to have local documents proof to open account in local all stores?
What document you have provided to Google while opening developer account? NO right?
Then why they need it in China? A indirect way to block outsuders?
I have spent 4 days to convert Chinese simlified language to my apps. but no download in china.
though they arw doing good in other play.
Kindly share the reply with me.
I can’t share specific names with you as I had >300 apps and probably try to re-publish them again. Many of them were in the tutorial, gaming and guides section, I think that gives you a pretty good idea.
Yep I had a similar split, but was a little more aggressive.
30% taxes
40% re-invested into new apps, website purchases, and advertisements for my flagships
30% living expenses
Hey gcc,
I am sorry that any non-free apps cannot be sold in China via GP, include apps which provide In App Purchase. My game was not spared too.
Asking China government to give us a reasonable explanation makes no sense. They will not reply to you, they do not care about it at all.
But I still can tell you some fact in China:
The bad relationship between Google Inc. and China government. Google does not agree with the content filtering proposed by China government and quit from China. From then, some services are not provided in China, such as Google wallet. So non-free apps cannot be sold in China.
All the licensed Android phones/pad sold in China have removed google services from Android system. So you cannot find google play on the phone/pad. Even customers download your apps, it can crash due to lack of google services. Then do you still want to sell apps in China?
But you can publish free apps, replacing In App Purchase with Offer Wall.
That’s all. Hope it helps.

Hi everyone,
My name is Pablo, I am from Argentina, and I started with Android since last year.
My first app was for college and now I am making a game using AndEngine (thanks to Nicolas Gramlich’s examples and matim-dev.com tutorials).
I came to this forum from David Webb’s blog with the same name (which inspired me) and it’s very useful in all aspects.
I hope to contribute with all of you since you are sharing precious information about apps, incomes, ads, etc.
Nice to meet you all.
Pablo
Hi all! Just wanted to swing by and say ‘hey’ after loitering around the forums for some time now. I’m the Head of Marketing for the apps website platform www.appto.us- we’re all massive Android geeks over there and I thought it’s about time to spend some of my downtime at last joining some of these discussions I’ve been following for so long!
I’d best get to it!
Rob
