So your interstitial revenue is about 50% of total revenue - but CTR is higher - right ?
Since you have such a small user base - this suggests to me that your users are signing in many times a day or something - this is why they are able to see this many interstitials a day (for just 1000 total installs or so user base).
Yes, you are correct, so how can I make a monthly income calculation when I have maybe 6k users? I am not sure about turning the refresh for banners off, or leave it as it is now at 60s … any ideas? thanks.
Banner refresh will not make much difference - at least theoretically (as I have theorized at least) regardless of how fast you refresh the “eyeball” time for ads remains the same - though you could try 120sec refresh and see if it impacts.
Your “problem” seems to be to grow your user base fast - which I am assuming is rising (if your existing users are using it so often) - then growth may not be such a problem.
If your per-user revenue is so high - you may even consider advertising.
Yes I am planning to start a campaign to promote the app, so I will get as many installs as possible and see how the app performs with at least 10,000 users.
Did you promote the app when you launched it - or you think users arrive at your app from random searches etc. (thanks to your title etc.).
However 50 downloads a day suggests this is purely organic (coming through searches which happen to throw up your app thanks to it’s title/description etc.).
Is the 50 downloads per day stable for how many days - or do you see an uptrend ?
Have you included some facebook like or such - to maybe get people to invite their friends over etc. ?
You may consider changing the title of the app to include some keywords that you think your typical audience might be searching for - for example if it is for chat, maybe have chat in there etc.
Awesome thread. It’s great to see indie devs talking about their revenue. I often read about Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga etc pulling in millions. But these cases are so so few and far between. Most of the developer out there make much lower amounts. It’s a very top heavy success driven industry. But of course don’t let that put anybody off. Success can be achieved by anyone who does the right things and persists.
For me I have about 40 games live across Google play, amazon, iOS. I make about $165 per day. This is using admob, chartboost, amazon ads, in-app purchases, and some tapjoy as well.
