Went out eating with a friend somewhere and there was an occurrence and it got me curious.
I was going to type different scenarios, but that is too specific.
Do you think depending upon the circumstances/how busy the restaurant is may cause for you to just ignore small mishaps on your order?
How do you react when someone speaks on your behalf of your order being wrong? It seems like a common occurence. Do you take it as them being rude?
Aiight go ahead with yalls take
if it’s minor and makes little difference to me I tend to ignore it
if it’s significant I’ll tell the server and repeat my actual order
If my order’s wrong at a restaurant, I usually try to stay calm and handle it politely. First, I’ll check if the mistake is something small that I can live with, like missing an ingredient. If it’s a bigger issue, like the wrong dish entirely, I’ll let the waiter or waitress know.
I always do it in a friendly way, like, “I think there’s been a mix-up with my order. Would it be possible to get the correct dish?” It’s important to stay understanding because, like anyone, they might have a busy shift. Most of the time, the staff are quick to fix it.
In my experience, sydney restaurants, like many in other places, tend to resolve mistakes with no hassle if you approach them calmly. Being polite goes a long way! I also try to be patient, as things can take a little time to sort out.
