House ads with affiliate links as an alternative to ad networks?

Given my recent Admob ban, I’ve been exploring what my options are. One idea I had that instead of joining other ad networks, how about advertising relevant products using house ads, and earn money through affiliate programs? Amazon would probably a good candidate. Sure, it’s more work to pick products, create creatives, manage campaigns, but at least you’re not depending on a third party to provide ad inventory and you have full control over the content.

Does anyone have any experience doing this? I think I’ll do some experiments to see how the conversion funnel is performing (CTR * conversions after click through). Not sure how many people would actually purchase something on their phones…

Did some research, at least Amazon is not cool with. :frowning:

  1. Except as agreed between you and us in a separate written agreement referencing this Participation Requirement, you will not use any Content or Special Link, or otherwise link to the Amazon Site, on or in connection with:

a. any client-side software application (e.g., a browser plug-in, helper object, toolbar, extension, or component or any other application executable or installable by an end user) on any device, including computers, mobile phones, tablets, or other handheld devices;

Will check others, like Commission Junction.

Its good if you program a backend to redirect based on geo. Or use imobitrax to do that for you. But its 130 bucks a month.

The other issue is finding affiliate offers for every country. It’s easy to set up, but offers go down all the time.
