A new 2.0 version of R Mahjong has been released – Riichi Mahjong for 4 players.
R Mahjong is a complete implementation of Japanese 4-player mahjong, also known as riichi mahjong.
R Mahjong allows you to play mahjong in both single player mode (Local Game) and multiplayer mode (Network Game) on a local network via Wi-Fi.
Moreover, in multiplayer mode you can play the game even if you do not have enough players. Bots will play instead of missing players.
The main innovation available starting from version 2.0 is strong artificial intelligence (AI) based on neural networks. It takes the game of mahjong to a whole new level.
How strong is artificial intelligence? Currently this AI, called SUO, has a strength of approximately 6.8-7.0 stable dan. (in terms of tenhou). Thus, it is stronger than 99.7% of players on tenhou.
You can start playing mahjong right away against strong opponents, improving your level of play. R Mahjong also has a training mode, in which you see your opponents’ hands and receive hints from the AI - which tile to discard and whether or not to make an announcement. You can also see the likelihood of a particular tile being reset from an AI point of view. Moreover, in training mode, you can quickly hide and display your opponents’ hands and tips, periodically spying on what move artificial intelligence would make in your place.
In single player mode (Local Game) only strong AI is available, while in multiplayer mode (Network Game) it is available as strong and weak AI to choose from, since strong AI can prevent you from testing your strength with other players. The mahjong games you play can be recorded and replayed step by step. Moreover, viewing is available from the point of view of any player.
R Mahjong keeps detailed statistics on games played. Almost every aspect of the game is recorded and can be analyzed. Total number of games, hands, percentage of riichi, announcements, tiles on which you won or lost, yaku collected. You can see not only your statistics, but also the statistics of your opponents, including the AI. This will allow you to adjust your game, if you have bad habits and preferences. It also shows how your rating changes over time (based on games played).
R Mahjong is completely free. You can switch ad types depending on your preferences.
