I have had an app successfull in the past 2 years. Then all of the sudden I notice an app that has the exact name as my app. Different look but same goal. I got pissed because this guy could be stealing my traffic. Anything I can do or is that part of competition and expected?
If your app name is not a registered I think you can’t do anything about it.
Depending on how successful your app has been you could consider applying for a trademark. Probably best to apply in the US as Google based there. Its not too expensive (I think £170 in UK) but does take a while (about 4 months). It might be possible to take some action while the application is being processed (a bit like patent pending), then you could insist Google remove the offending app.
