App rejected because of out-of-context and/or excessive use of keywords

Hello guys,

I submitted an application an it was directly rejected by google’s algorithms, it says:

Your app submission has been rejected for out-of-context and/or excessive use of keywords. This is a violation of the Google Play Developer Programme Policy regarding Spam and Placement in the Store. If this upload was an app update, the previous version of your app is still available on Google Play. Please review the keyword spam policy help article, then modify your app’s description and resubmit. More details about this rejection have been emailed to the account owner.

I’m not exactly sure what the problem is, I did use quite a long description and some keywords i use more than 5 times, but no keyword spam. Also I maybe use a quite a lot of keywords for a longer description, but they are related. How do you think I should change the description, does it help not to use keywords more than 5 times? The app title contains 5 keywords and I mention the app title 3 times in the description, could that be the problem, or should I use less keywords?

@edit: I removed my youtube address channel link from the description, which contained a lot of characters. App has been succesfully published :slight_smile:

Of course you need to use less keywords. The message sent from Google is so clear about it.

I removed my youtube channel address link which contained a lot of characters. I couldn’t change the url itself because now a channel first need 500 subscribers to do that. I’m glad I didn’t have to change my aso optimised description.

Hi @celaeno, can you please explain what happened? Have you wrote appeal to google? Did they send you any hint what’s wrong or you just removed Youtube url by yourself?
