I couldn’t find a topic on this. I thought it would be useful to list android marketplaces that people are using, experiences of submitting apps to them and approximate percentages of downloads.

The ones I’m using are

Google Play - no approval process, about 15% of my total downloads
Get jar - limited approval process about 20% of downloads
Amazon - device testing undertaken about 30% of downloads
Samsung - comprehensive device testing (takes <7 days and you get sent a test report and videos of your app being tested) about 20% of downloads
Slideme - some device testing, picky about application names, about 5% of my downloads
Mobile24 - slow to approve, 1%
AndroidPit - links to google play, 3%
Opera - 2%

I think thats all the ones I have my apps on. There may be others small ones I’ve used once and forgotten about.

Am I missing any other markets that could add a chunk of downloads?

Thanks for sharing. well…do you only mention to those in North America or Europe? if not, and there is anything to add on this list, maybe some android marketplaces in Asia especially in China though…there are a ton of such marketplaces there :rolleyes:

Is there any service you know of which can take the .apk from me and use the info from Google Play and publish the app on the stores you have mentioned above. Can’t spare that much time myself…

Google play is only 15% while Getjar and Amazon get 20% and 30%?? This seems to be unusual…doesn’t it?

i agree, can other people chime in with some data? specifically those who use all 3 of those marketplaces.
