Hi everyone, sorry if this is the wrong section. I am new to Android development and was wondering what screen size and resolution I should make my apps for to make sure I reach the most people? Does anyone have recent, reliable information on this? Thank you!
I think there are too many to give a most common measurement these days. I’ve started working in 1024x600 and used to work in 480x800 for my games.
It’s usually 1280x720 or 1280x800 or ratio that are 16:9 and 16:10. There might be few, but 4:3 are not common at all. So make sure your apps can support 16:9 and doesn’t look of on 16:10 devices you will be fine.
Well, in android world you just can’t think about the normal screen resolution every time you ended up with the thought that the screen size is fixed with … then a new device arrives over the market having different screen size and then again you need to work your way again from the start. But if I’d still have to bet upon then I’ll bet over the average and the best screen sized available is 4.5 to 5.0inch.
The Google dashboard has some data on size and density.
Well, yes it has some data on size and density but it does only stated about the screen size as small, normal, large or xlarge I don’t think they have stated anything different than that. So, that might be a problem I would say though … so nope the screen sizes and I guess the normal screen size I was talking about is 4.0 to 4.5 inch or may be 5.0 inch !
