Is using trademarked words in app description prohibited? Let’s say you are making an app that add emojis to whatsapp app. Then can you not say that in the app. Description? If not then how can you describe such an app? Thank you
Well, it is not prohibited per se, but you will get banned if the owner of the trademark notices. And they do in most cases (some trademarks are more guarded than others though).
Putting them in description as part of the explanation what the app is for should be safe, but on Google Play you never know.
Over here I seemed to agree with @Magnesus as it’s not prohibited by you will be banned by the owner trademark notices. What you can do is put the working of the application like you can this and that… over the the trademark apps and all over the description.
My current apps are just tools/utilities for popular video games. I make sure to put a disclaimer at the bottom of the store description that I’m not affiliated with (and other fancy legal text) with the game and/or the publisher of the game. I also try my best not to infringe on the intellectual property of these games (i.e. making it clear my app is merely a tool to assist players).
