I see a lot of you saying that you get in in the range of thousands of download a day
I get hundreds and I am dancing
Is there a key secret here when you introduce your app first? Like do you prepare paid ads, house Ads, maybe paid downloads? Or is it that you developed a big user base (say fb page) and you inform them of new app? Or just pure luck but happening go be a such a good name (still I find it hard as mostly Yo will be ranked at least after 10 apps when you start?
the free approach is localization, and then buying lots of ads!
but before any of that, you need to make sure people give a crap about what you’re offering, and for that my friends there is really no easy answer but to try hard and learn from mistakes.
I actually have some apps with 1000-1500 downloads a day, but without any marketing advertisement. Don’t know why, it just worked, it was just a useful app.
But would like to hear about having a facebook page and promoting it. Anyone is doing it here? Maybe also by posting some android news sometimes, then about updates and so on, collecting many users on the page and then promoting new apps can help.
I’ve an app with 1000 dowloads per day and i’ve placed a FB button on option menu. Today my app reached 80k downloads and the fb page has only 100 likes
Have you tried having only one fb page for all your apps? Then slowly you could get more likes, and when you publish your new app, it would be kind of advertising to your existing users.
well … you have to work your ass really hard on every possible approach the first 30 days “during the top new free time” … and wish for the best .
In my experience :-
1.Make more apps.
2.Make sure the web 512x512 icon is really attractive
3.Choose your words in the title and the description.“DO NOT SPAM”.
4.Target specific people in a specific market.
5.Localize " at least the description and the title " << I use Google translator, Its not that good but its Ok.
6.Lots of ads - after doing everything I said before-
7.Do not buy downloads/ratings
8.Try to please Google in every way possible … cause even if you have an app with 20 million downloads and you’re not following their guidelines they will remove your apps and ban you for life from Google play.
I think having a fairly popular app can help quite a bit, on one of my old accounts I had a big app, used to get quite 4k+ downloads a day, after that the majority of apps I released I could pretty much guarantee around 1k downloads a day or more. Even on a “Gun Sounds” app I had 2-3k downloads a day… But then google decided I was impersonating rockstar with a gta cheats app… and shut my accounts down.
Managed to get a new one up and I am finding it difficult to get the initial downloads I used to. Hoping it will sort itself out soon or I am going to have to get a day job again, going from almost $200 a day to $6 a day has been pretty painful!
Also to add on other peoples advice, find a code snippet that prompts users to rate after a couple of uses of the app. It will increase the amount of ratings you will get and usually they will be positive as they are repeat users, ratings can greatly increase your rankings in your first few days!
