Work with applications without source code is very difficult, whether in general take such a job?
Apologies for my ignorance, but how are you going to update an app without its source code?
This is not easy, but possible.
You can decompile apk to java sources, fix errors of decompiler, compile again to APK.
Other way: create “app laucher”, like some sdk do, display ads, then launch app itself. In theory, you can create semi-auto “ads injector” for many apps.
Anyway, this is hard work with high price. But I don’t know, exact price for this.
Hey @sudi, yes it is possible, however if app is obfuscated this could be even harder. Most of ad networks keep their interface classes untouched with some proguard exclusions however it is very hard work. And also do you have the necessary .keystores to do it?
Anyway for anyone that want to learn more about these, have a look in some reverse engineering presentations, for example here. Reverse engineering is one of the hottest topics in droidcons usually.
Now regarding your question, I would personally take at least $10 for each SDK within an app that you have the source code that I would have to update, and $50 for the update of the app. I would not even bother for the apps with no source code, I don’t think it worth the work that you will have to do and the trouble you will get into, for the money you will get paid.
20$ each app with source code, 50$ without source code and ignore app without source code and Private keystore, because you can edit app-id but can not publish app without keystore and app can not update on Play store.

Yes, money is hard to earn. I do not know the opportunity to earn easily.

You always have opportunity to bytecode manipulation. It’s not easy, but I can.

What troubles? I just freelancer, reverse engineering is not prohibited in my country, I will not publish it, so if any copyright violations may occur, this problems of my customer. Only one trouble can see: customer may not pay to me, but this can occur with any project. Something else?
This is not my applications, so my customer must publish this applications itself.
Look at previous post, why difference of prices so big? $20 and $80, why price can changes upto 4 times?
@sudi don’t sell your brain too cheap, the problem some time not easy as you expect.
Everyone wants a good job with a high income. But it is not always possible to sell brain for a good price, and therefore engaged in freelancing.
Because each one is different, has a different approach of the work to do and different good and bad past experiences.
