Monetizing without ads?

Want to pose a brief question and see if a few of you on here can help me validate something.

If there were a way to make the same amount of money (maybe more) per MAU but with out any ads at all for your users, would you take a company up on this?

Let me explain…

Let’s say you could install an SDK that prompted users to Opt-in or opt-out upon initial downloaded. The SDK would be one that requires mic access and pics up meta data on TV ad exposures using ad audio. The SDK is very transparent and lays out what it’s doing and when on the opt-in page, in return for opting in the users receive no ads what so ever in that app. If they opt-out the service is killed and the ads continue as normal.

From a developers stand point, each user that opt’s in would get $.10 per unique monthly user. The developer would still get paid and now the users would get to fully experience your app ad free thus resulting in less bad reviews complaining about to many ads.

Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

Would I believe anyone if they said they’d listen to what was going on in my home, but would only pay attention to what TV adverts I was watching? No I wouldn’t believe them. Would you like someone standing in the corner your bedroom all night, listening to you gently snoring (and whatever else you may get up to), so that if you turn on the TV they can see what adverts you watch? Actually, I might offer my services to an advertising company to do just that

Thanks Jumbly. Obviously this kinda service wouldn’t appeal to everyone which is why it’s “Opt-in”.

Yeah without ADs its called paid apps lol.

That’s the beauty of this PixelPower, there would not be any ads or a need to pay for the app.

Those that opt-in for the SDK would not get served ads nor pay for the app, the SDK provided by the company would subsidize and pay per active user that opt-in.
