i was self taught from magazines (days before youtube) and books. if i was young today i would likely be using apps and youtube etc.
i’m just wondering if i would have been a better player if i had been taught or just a different player
i’m sure i have some bad techniques going [image]
all guitar tutors surely can’t use the same techniques for learning can they?
for anyone that got lessons, would you be telling everyone to do it or…
(when i say lessons i mean sitting with a guy in a room learning, i’m assuming that’s how it still goes Smiling face with smiling eyes
)
what’s your guitar learning story
I see it’s been a while since you’ve posted, but I just wanted to ask if anyone here has tried using apps like Yousician or Justin Guitar recently. I’ve been learning that way and I’m curious how it compares to traditional lessons or just figuring things out solo. Do you think beginner lessons on YouTube are enough these days, or is one-on-one still worth it?
I’ve been messing around with guitar for a while and what really helped me stick with it was using artmaster. It breaks stuff down in such a simple way that I wasn’t getting frustrated like before. I still mess up, but following the lessons there gave me structure without feeling like school. Mixing in a bit of self-taught jamming with that made it way more fun.
