This is so frikken funny and a dumb reason to suspend an app. I published like 15 lock screens all use same code and they suspended 2 of them for deceptive behavior since the user can bypass the lock by pressing the home key button so they claim it to be a falsely advertised app, but yet since android 4.1 we can no longer bypass the home key functionality
Hello Jason,
Thank you for contacting the Google Play Team.
After further review, we won’t be reinstating your app Swan Lock Screen (com.swanlockscreen5456098) because it violates the Deceptive Behavior policy.
Our policy states:
We don’t allow apps that attempt to deceive users. Apps must provide accurate disclosure of their functionality and should perform as reasonably expected by the user.
For example:
Your app and or elements of your store listing, including app title, description, and or promotional screenshots suggest a different functionality from what is actually provided by the app (lock screen functionality can be dismissed by pressing the Home button).
If you publish a new version of your app, please make sure it complies with our policies. You can upload the policy compliant version of your app using a new app name and a new package name.
This is my follow up email to Bruce so we will see what happens. Might have to get a lawyer to fight this one.
Suspended because the user can press the home key button to unlock? That is like the dumbest reason ever and it is still not considered deceptive behavior if they want to use home key button instead of the slider to unlock then they should have that right. After android 4.1 we cant even bypass the home screen button anymore. It is actually against play store policy to override the home key button so that’s why my app allows user to hit home key button to close it out. It is not deceptive behavior. So you need to reinstate my app.
Google is the worst company ever! And after you add a feature to block the home button, they will suspend you again as a result of interference withe system UI( blocking home button)…lolz. That is why I hated Google so much! They should treat devs well!
Sometimes, you might get your account suspended in the first day that you just uploaded only 3 legal apps.
Yeah they are, the reason of the suspension on the second lock screen is that they claim it is not a lock screen so there fore it is deceptive behavior. Im pretty sure a screen that you go to after turning on your phone and using a slider to unlock is a lock screen. What 3rd party app markets do you have success with?
I think it might have to do with the name and the description of the app. (I could be totally off base also). I was working on an app awhile ago that was a prank app. Something like this: Lie Detector. Now, there is no way for this to actually work. But during my research I found that you had to explicitly say it was a prank app and that it was not real. Now your app may lock the screen, but it could kinda fall in to the prank category also. There are a lot of screen lockers out there and it is kinda a gray area for me. Does it actually lock the device? No, not really… it just puts a window on top, correct?
BTW. Explicitly saying that it is a Prank and doesn’t actually work doesn’t stop people either. Just read the reviews. lol. idiots.

HORRIBLE APP This is not true because I asked the same question twice and first it said it was false and then it said it was true plus this is so boring.
