ECPM for December low?

January is holding up well for me so far, but December did great too. Strange to see such varied results with everyone this season.

December still was the best month of all year, but comparing stats to other years it was worse (cost per clicks) and I didn’t see no spike at all on Christmas. Revenue wasn’t bad only because on holidays there where much more active/new users and in the end that’s why I made more revenue comparing to other months.

 Industry wide there are lower ad rates in start of January.
Since we don’t need to provide proof, you might as well claim you see 10 fold increase in eCPM.

I never claimed a 10 fold increase. Yes of course there is always a drop-off in January, but these first 3 days have done well for me.
Maybe you should add to the discussion instead of getting annoyed at someone because of their bloody eCPM.

Here’s my Admob RPM stats since November:

A weak performing Dec and so far Jan - approx 30% off.

Your own Graph shows about 25% drop in first 3 days.
Also there is drop in Cost per Click (which you were hiding by showing RPM Graph rather than Earnings Graph).

Its important to post real information than providing wrong answer just to boost yourself.

He didn’t hide anything. If the drop in cost per click would decrease, CTR would need to increase at the same time to keep the same ecpm. In the end it makes no difference to his earnings at all and this is what he showed here.

[ to keep the same ecpm]

Why are you assuming ECPM is the Same? There is drop in eCPM in January across industry as expected. The dude was incorrectly boosting, he didn’t see a drop.

My RPM also shutdowns. I hope this will be better in January :

ECPM vs Impressions going in opposite directions. Not happy with that, I finally get the downloads and impressions and I got nothing out of it.

Last Two Days ECPM very low

My Admob ECMP for 2015 is % 50 of december 2014.

Yes, as you said there is always a drop-off in January.
My average RPM for November was $1.70
My average RPM for December was $1.91
My average RPM for January so far (1st-4th) is $1.49, which is 22% less than December and 12% less than November.

If you ask me that is holding up well, considering January is usually the worst month in the industry for most devs.

I was showing an RPM graph as its not a good idea to show an earnings graph on a public forum.

I just started last year and didnt start seeing revenue till mid summer. Is that how it normally goes, a run up through December and then it drops off in January? When has it historically picked back up?

On the industry whole, it usually starts to pick back up around Spring. There’s no golden rule though and developers often see different results to each other.

Admob earning is going downhill now. Decrease around 40% … Is the market really that bad in January? Or all advertising platform such as adsense, web, iOS and affiliate earnings decrease also?

What Geos does your traffic come from?

Majority of traffic come from US and then follow by Japan. Others are Italy, Indonesia, UK, Canada, Netherlands and so on. US traffic is 20% from total traffic but income is around 38% from total income. I guess the culprit is the low RPM and CTR since beginning of december for all other countries except US. After the holiday season end, US started to follow in this month.
