[quote=adforandroidapps]- Use refresh rate set in client code
If you leave it at that the ads won’t refresh unless you set the time in client mode.
[quote]or to something like 120 sec/60 sec ?
Depends on the app I think. I had it set to never refresh (resulting in quite high CTR) and after changing to 60 seconds there is a 5% or sth like that raise in revenue (CTR is much lower of course). It’s hard to tell touch with eCPM jumping a little every day up or down.
I did a similar test - although was related to how much proportion I allocated to Admob vs. AppBrain banner ads.
And the results were inconclusive - i.e. it was that if you present AppBrain too much, the revenue goes up … but then people get tired of it or something.
So I concluded that there maybe some value to having “novelty” between the ad networks.

How many times AppBrain update their stats about install and stuff? I uploaded a game with their SDK and I still don’t see any install, and I have something around 200+.
This is Ebrahim from Vserv.mobi and i handle the Developer Alliances for Vserv.mobi. Recently there have been extensive discussions/debates regarding the new Google policies affecting icon and push ads for a lot of developers. I feel the policy confirms the belief that “Apps” are important than “Ads” and not the other way round.
We have been complying with Google Policies even before they were publicly released, and we believe that the most important thing for a Developer is the UI and UX of his app before he talks about monetisation. I feel extremely proud when i say that NONE of the 10,000+ apps that use Vserv as their monetisation partner were affected and what makes me happier is when they compliment us of being innovative and thoughtful towards our format of ads with CTR’s of 10% and eCPM’s of $3-5.
Would encourage each one of you to focus on your mission of building great apps Would love to talk monetisation as well and feel free to write to me at ebrahim.p[at]vserv.mobi
