I bought the HTC U11+ on release day almost 2 years ago. The phone came with Android 8.0.0. It has gotten 4 security updates since.
Today it received the first update in 9 months and it was a security update. Want to know what the crazy thing is? The security update is for May.

I’m extremely disappointed by HTC. Some people may not care about updates but it is important to me to experience what the new versions offer, even if it might not be much. Also 9 months for 1 monthly security update?
Hardware companies shouldn’t try to be software companies. HTC has great hardware but disappointing software. If they can’t maintain their products, they should let a software company help them.
