New Tap for Tap

Hi there,

A couple of days ago, I got an email from TapforTap.com telling me they have redesigned the whole system. I’ve tried it and the Web interface and the SDK are much better designed, but I don’t know if they are worth it because:

  • The quality of the banners sucks, because they don’t force you to use a custom banner, instead they use a random color background with white text on top of it. Most users don’t design their own banner. This also applies to interstitials and app walls.

  • Yesterday, I did a quick test on one of my apps, and I got a CTR of 1.5% (for 1000 impressions). Of those impressions I didn’t get a single install.

What’s your opinion ?

I finally gave up. I think the problem with all those free cross-promotion platforms (TapForTap, AppFlood, and others) is that you need a high user base to be able to get installs, but to be able to get installs you need to have a high user base :s

Amen @Androider – you precisely summarized my thoughts on these “install exchanges”
It’s a tempting concept for growing your userbase for “free,” but in reality it will only give a tiny trickly of users unless you have a huge app.

Well, I tried swappit.com … racked up a few hundred thousand impressions/day and never saw ANY increase in installs. Take that as a single data-point

Hi guys,
I’m trying to setup the new TapForTap in admob mediation but when I test it I get the following error:

It looks like the method is not implemented.
Anyone have experience with that?
I contacted them this morning but I haven’t receive any answer until now.

Hi Androider

Thanks for checking out our service. I’m glad you like the new SDK and web interface. We’ll be improving the web interface even more in the coming days.

I also agree that we need to improve the look of our ads. This is something we’re working on right now. We like that we can offer “do it yourself” banner options, but we need to make them look more uniform and clean. I thank you for this feedback.

Your concerns about needing to have traffic to get traffic are also apt. For smaller developers the system is an organic growth portal. We don’t currently offer “burst” solutions, but we should be able to steadily grow user bases. We are working on a monetization component to the network that will also allow developers to bid a CPI to generate more volumes of installs.

As for the installs, I’d have to look into your situtation, but I know that we’re improving our tap and install algorithim all the time, so I think we’ll be able to deliver better results than you’ve seen.

Anyone feel free to reach out to me Eric at Tap for Tap. We’ve already substantially changed the service based entirely on developer feedback, so we’re looking to evolve it constantly still. Let me know what you want and we’ll try to build it!

Hey,

I’d also like to mention MoreGamers.com which is a Free Cross Promotion Network dedicated to Mobile Game Apps only.

It supports IOS, Google Play, Windows and Amazon App Stores…

Might be something worth looking into.

regards,

Kallum
PS Disclosure/Disclaimer: I do work for MoreGamers.com and it’s parent company.

Has anyone tried Tappx? Might be interesting for some of you. I think it all depends on the method the company uses to organise their app traffic (clicks, impressions…) But well, Tappx works well for me. Check it out.

I’d recommend Tappx as Anagy says, they work fairly well, and even though they’re new they have interesting projects for the future. Could you use this link if you’re going to register? It will give me extra credits and you too Tappx - Cross-promotion platform for Apps - The App Marketing Platform, Tappx
