Proxy support on linux

So Linux obviously has proxy support, but in my situation it requires a username and password.

The only solution I’ve come up with is to put my name/pwd in plain text in ect.Conf. This is obviously terrible.

So, how can I either have this as some kind of pop-up window or program that stores credentials, or use SSO, as our windows machines do, to access the proxy server?

I kind of had a similar problem with proxies on Linux, never solved it…

Yes, it is not easy to setup proxy on linux, you should just do it to someone who can do it properly. I used to think that you can do anything with the help of youtube, but that problem remain unsolvable for me. The easiest proxies are the pirate bay proxies. It is blocked sometimes and you need something like avoidcensorship.org to be able to use it anywhere. It is important that you use the right version of the pirate bay because fake ones will get you a lot of viruses. That way is the best way to get to the real pirate bay.

yeah, I remember my friend used their proxy list to access the Pirate bay
