Redefining Mobile Photography

Huawei P30 Pro: Redefining Mobile Photography

The “P” in Huawei’s new P30 Pro is all about photography. With a four-lens camera hitting an insane ISO value of 409600, this cell phone is shaping up to be the top choice for anyone who wants the best possible smartphone photographs. Four cameras, 5x optical zoom, and an enormous light output-Huawei’s P30 Pro is anything but ordinary.

While mobile photography has improved drastically over the past few years, delivering quality shots in low-light environments has proven to be one of more challenging frontiers to conquer. Huawei has once again teamed with Leica, with a heavy focus on its cameras and pushing the smartphone sensor tech even further.

Huawei Price Philippines
The Huawei P30, priced at PHP 36,990, will be available for pre-order on April 5-12 2019 and it comes with a free Huawei Watch GT worth PHP 12,990.

Specs
Being flagship phones, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the P30 Pro comes equipped with bleeding edge specs. Huawei designed these phones to be ridiculously powerful today, tomorrow, and well into the future.

New Spin on the Classic RGB sensor
Put simply, most camera sensors feature red, green and blue (RGB) pixels to capture light from a scene. Huawei improved the setup by replacing the green pixels with yellow pixels. Yellow pixels can capture all the green light, but also some additional red light from a scene, increasing the overall amount of light captured up to 40 percent!

Mate-like design
The Huawei P30 Pro looks a lot like the Mate 20 Pro, the two phones are also pretty similar in weight and size, and they feature a similar curved-edge display. There are some key differences though, the notch on the P30 Pro’s display is much smaller because it only houses the 32MP selfie camera, instead of the Mate 20 Pro’s 3D facial scanner.

Like the Mate 20 Pro, the P30 Pro comes with optical in-display fingerprint readers. The scanner has been placed lower for easier access. The biggest design difference is, of course, the setup of cameras on the back of the phones.

Gradient Colourways
Whether you find them gorgeous or gaudy, Huawei’s gradient colourways are here to stay. The P30 and P30 Pro are available in five colourways and only one of them is not a gradient-Black.

Here are the four others:

  • Aurora - a new take on the purple-and-blue Aurora colourway introduced last year
  • Pearl White - a pearly combination of white and faint purple
  • Breathing Crystal - a subtle light green-to-blue transition
  • Amber Sunrise - an extremely striking reddish-orange hue
