I recently found a setting on my phone that i never used before, came with the custom rom i have and its called AdAway. It enables you to block all ads from apps/games .
I am sure this will become more popular, so my question is this, is it even worth it to create a free app/game anymore that has ads?
yes it worth it , lot of kids with tablet don’t have time to block ads
Adblocking has been around for a while, but most users don’t bother with it, or even know it’s possible. Ad blocker apps aren’t allowed on Google Play store either, so it’s not going to be a problem.
not dead. luckily the crossection of the technologically-inclined demographic and the audience that downloads the types of apps I make is not too great.
The tough part of monetizing with ads is still just getting the high number of downloads you need for it to pay off.
