Candy Crush Saga makes over $800k...

… a day!
‘Candy Crush’: The Science Behind Our Addiction | TIME.com

That is really crazy. Beat that.

I remember reading that the figure was $680,000 back in July. No wonder Jelly Splash copied them so much. I’m actually surprised that more competitors aren’t on the scene!

Truly mind-blowing.

That’s too low. Supercell (Clash of Clans) was doing $2.4million / day AND THAT IS IOS ONLY… and back in APRIL 2013.

Candy Crush is above them on the list of earners, and ALSO the top earner on FB and Android.

So you could expect them to be closer to $4million/day or higher.

Of course that’s impressive and they must have a huge load of cash. Though it all comes down to benefits, and King.com must be hiring like crazy at the moment, reducing the margin… What I’d like to know is how much their revenue accelerate vs their benefits.
Anyway I am not trying to reduce their success, I have a lot of respect for what they are doing and as a mobile app developer I hope there are many more successes like it in the near future.

That article is from Nov 2013. Just yesterday I picked up december issue of TIME and the official number now are $900K. Here is the partial article:

Looks like revenue figure is rising quite fast for them. Guess what there are no ads in that game but it ask for IAP at the right time.

P.S. My wife doesn’t believe when I tell her that many skater/bubble/puzzle games have 1000000 downloads and earn anything between $10K -$20K monthly.

@javaexp: That TIME article is a BS/thumbsuck estimate. King as never, ever said how much they were actually earning.

How much was their what was it - CoinDozer earning ? That was all over in the ad network AppWalls - so heavily advertised etc.

That is, they were probably doing well with their casino type apps already - but Candy Crush Saga probably puts them in another category altogether (?)

Anecdotally from talking to someone - it seems rabid players of that app (and all their relatives etc. who also it seems play thanks to facebook) - they get stuck at a level and then they switch to other similar apps (so those other apps must have been beneficiaries of this “candy” themed rise) - but it seems they come back to Candy Crush Saga (I think accumulating coins while they were away may help them or make them think they can overcome the next level or something ?).

That’s very true. I remember my brother was addicted to Candy Crush last summer. I would always see him play it, but sometimes he would be playing a casino game instead. Yes, he was just waiting to accumulate more lives in Candy Crush, not willing to pay for those lives.

I would estimate about $3mil a day…

60% of users on top level did not pay a cent to be there - fact

That’s incredible…
