App with wallpapers - where do you store the images?

Hi!

I’m not a “real” developer - I use Andromo for my apps, and now I’d like to create an app with wallpapers. Andromo lets me include images in the app itself (cool, but it makes the installation file super big), or I could upload the images to Flickr, and create a feed from there. However, Flickr let’s you host only your own images.

So, how do other people solve this? There are many Wallpapers app there, all installation files are small, so they must be pulling those images from somewhere. Any ideas, how could I solve this?

Thanks.

You must have your images hosted somewhere , dropbox for example ,
and the optimum would be your own server

Thanks for the answer. I have a hosting at Hostgator. So basically I could create an image gallery with HTML5 and link to images on my server?

You could do this if you are using a webview to display your app , but another way can be a native gallery in android and stream images from the web web the thumbnail is clicked

there are many tutorials on the web explaining this , here is one of them
android - How do I do a lazy load of images in ListView - Stack Overflow

I will have a look, thanks.

Good hosting company is Interserver.net and you can use it to store those images and other stuff. To save a bit - check these InterServer coupons here
