Question Why is there no "Top New Free" categories any more on play store ?

Does anybody know the reason ?

Because back in the day THEY needed software. Do you remember this "Come on, come all" call on the Android Developers site? So they needed indies and they would give them ways of successful app introduction. Because a platform without large software library is nothing. Today they do not need indies any more. They need those that can put $$$ on the table.

The strange thing is that on appannie.com i still can see the top new categories ... but on my smartphone and tablet they are not here anymore...

Also i thing it is very negative now .
I just released a brand new game and promted it with thousands of installs (incentivized installs !!!) but i am getting almost no organic installs ...

Also i think google play updated the whole site now .... under same keywords i can find totally different games now ... strange !

Is it still possible now for small developers to get good downloads on google play ????
